Data Deletion
Last updated: August 18, 2026
If you connected a Facebook or Instagram account to BoringSales, this page explains exactly what we store, how to have it deleted, and how to check on a deletion request you already made.
Your deletion request
Confirmation code:
Status: complete. The Facebook connection tied to this code, including the access token and the list of ad accounts and Pages it covered, has been deleted from our systems. No further action is needed. Keep this code if you want us to look the request up later.
What we store when you connect Facebook
When you authorize BoringSales from a connection link, Facebook gives us an access token that lets us manage advertising on your behalf. Against that token we keep only:
- the access token itself, encrypted at rest;
- your Facebook user ID and display name;
- the list of ad accounts, Pages, and business accounts you chose to grant;
- which permissions you granted or declined, and when you connected.
We do not receive or store your Facebook password, your friends list, your private messages, or your personal profile content.
Alongside the connection we hold the advertising data we read to run and report on your campaigns: campaigns, ad sets, ads, audiences, creative, budgets, spend, and delivery and performance metrics. This is deleted too. When a connection ends we delete the access token immediately and this advertising data within 30 days. See our Privacy Policy for the full description.
How to delete it
Anyone may ask us to delete this data, free of charge, at any time, wherever they are located, and whether or not they are a BoringSales customer. There are two ways, and both result in the same thing.
Option 1 — remove us from Facebook (fastest, no waiting on us)
- Go to Facebook → Settings & privacy → Settings.
- Open Apps and websites in the left menu.
- Find BoringSales in the list and choose Remove.
- Tick the box offering to delete the data the app holds, then confirm.
Facebook notifies us the moment you do this, and our copy of your token and connection record is deleted automatically. Your ads, ad accounts, and Pages are untouched and stay entirely yours.
Option 2 — ask us directly
Email [email protected] from the address associated with your account with the subject Data Deletion Request, and tell us the business name you connected. We will delete the connection and confirm by reply within 30 days, and in practice within two business days.
What happens after deletion
Once the connection is deleted, BoringSales immediately loses the ability to read or manage anything in your Facebook advertising account. Campaigns already running keep running; they are yours and live in your own ad account. We simply can no longer see or change them. To resume service you would connect again with a fresh link.
We may retain records we are required to keep for legal, tax, or accounting reasons, such as invoices, and backup copies are purged on our normal backup rotation. Those records do not include your access token.
